The test of programme leadership is whether a degree survives external scrutiny. Five of the AUT programmes he developed hold, or have held, professional accreditation: the Architectural and Construction Engineering majors with Engineering New Zealand under the Washington Accord, the Building Engineering and Building Services Engineering majors of the Bachelor of Engineering Technology under the Sydney Accord, and the Bachelor of Construction with RICS, whose Quantity Surveying major is also accredited by NZIQS. His working knowledge of the International Engineering Alliance accords (Washington, Sydney and Dublin) has been built through this accreditation work rather than alongside it. Beyond accreditation he has led external and internal moderation, graduating year reviews and industry advisory boards, and has mentored academics on curriculum review and delivery strategy.
